Hybrid Backup

Amazon Backup provides a common way to back up your application data both in the cloud and on premises. Amazon Backup integrates withAmazon Storage Gateway, a hybrid storage service that enables your on-premises applications to seamlessly use Amazon Web Services cloud storage. This integration allows you to apply the same backup policies to both your Amazon Web Services Cloud resources and your on-premises data stored on Amazon Web Services Storage Gateway volumes.


On-Premises Backup

You can use Amazon Backup to back up your application data stored in Amazon Storage Gateway volumes. Backups of Amazon Storage Gateway volumes are securely stored in the Amazon Web Services Cloud and are compatible with Amazon EBS, allowing you to restore your volumes to the Amazon Web Services Cloud or to your on-premises environment.
