Construct, drill disaster recovery and recover from disaster with simplicity and efficiency

Many customers usually need to deploy disaster recovery centers to safeguard key business applications such that they could provide services continuously when infrastructures encountered unexpected major disasters. A common way to ensure the effectiveness of a disaster recovery center is to drill it occasionally after it is built. However, drilling a traditional disaster recovery center is troublesome, as preparing the environment and drilling the recovery are both complex and costly processes, which prohibit customers from drilling regularly.

The Disaster Recovery Factory helps customers accelerate the deployment, dill and execution of a disaster recovery solution on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in order to achieve the expected business continuity goal with simplicity and efficiency as its core ideas. The tool provides user-friendly user-interfaces, preconfigured management platform with best practices, flexible and various data synchronization methods. With those features, users can efficiently replicate data, deploy instances, drill disaster recovery with minimized manual errors in a hybrid deploying environment.

Benefits

Fast deployment

Construct the Disaster Recovery Factory on AWS in as soon as four weeks. Enhance customer’s ability to respond to emergencies.

Easy management

With one-click, you can test or drill disaster recovery in the user-interface. Also fallback in an emergency with one-click.

Support various applications and services

Disaster Recovery Factory supports business continuity in hybrid deployments. It not only protects local key business applications (such as Oracle database and SAP S/4HANA), but applications on cloud as well (such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2)、Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3)).

Trusted expertise and experiences

AWS Professional Services consultants have fruitful consulting and delivery experiences in several major business continuity projects. With AWS global best practices and knowledge base, we can help customers reach the business continuity goal.

  • How it works
  • AWS Professional Services consultants will firstly confirm the protected applications and business continuity goals with the customer, then investigate the business and estimate the work. We will assist the customer to design, deploy, test and rehearse the disaster recovery on the cloud.

The deployment and management of the disaster recovery center are controlled by the Disaster Recovery Factory. Users can set up data replication plans for various applications in the tool, including Oracle database, SAP S/4HANA, Amazon EC2, Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB. With a simple user-interface and many micro-services, the tool can perform many operations in one-click, such as replicating production environment to backup the environment (Amazon VPC, subnets, security groups, Internet gateways, network gateways, S3), constructing and destroying the drill environment.

Additionally, technical support is available throughout the whole process, including tool upgrading, bug fixes and trouble shooting.

  • Key activities
  • 1) Investigation and estimation meeting

Confirm the application scope and business continuity goal, investigate the IT infrastructures and business.

    2) Disaster recovery architecture design

Design the infrastructure, landing zone and major operational procedure of a disaster recovery center on AWS.

    3) Deploy disaster recovery factory

Deploy the landing zone and Disaster Recovery Factory on AWS, create a drill environment, develop and test the major operational procedure.

    4) Drill business continuity

Design and execute the business continuity drill plans and provide the disaster recovery-related knowledge and trainings.
