Resource control policies (RCPs) are now available in the Amazon Web Services China Regions

Posted on: Jun 15, 2026

You can now use resource control policies (RCPs) in Amazon Organizations in the Amazon Web Services China regions to enforce preventative controls on your resources at scale. With RCPs, you can centrally establish a data perimeter across your environment and restrict external access to your Amazon Web Services resources.

RCPs are a type of organization policy that you can use to centrally set up the maximum available permissions on your resources. RCPs complement service control policies (SCPs), an existing type of organization policy. SCPs offer central control over the maximum permissions for IAM roles and users in your organization. RCPs offer the same central control over your resources.

Resource control policies are available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. RCPs support a subset of services. For the current list, see services that support RCPs. To learn more, see the resource control policies documentation.
