Application Signals is now available in the Amazon Web Services China Regions

Posted on: Oct 8, 2026

Amazon CloudWatch Application Signals with Transaction Search is now available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. Application Signals gives operators an automatically curated, at-a-glance view of application and service health, while Transaction Search lets teams search, filter, and analyze their distributed trace spans to pinpoint the exact transactions behind latency and errors. Both capabilities are already generally available in commercial regions and now extend observability parity to customers building and operating applications in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.

With Transaction Search, application and platform teams can move from a high-level health signal in Application Signals directly into the individual spans behind a latency spike or error, using the same Amazon CloudWatch Logs query experience they already know. Because every span that reaches the endpoint is indexed, with no separate sampling applied inside the search engine, teams investigating intermittent failures or tail-latency issues can find the exact transaction rather than hoping it was captured by sampling. This is especially useful for teams instrumenting agent-based and microservice workloads that need full-fidelity trace visibility in-region.
