Amazon RDS now supports copying option groups during cross-Region snapshot copy
Amazon RDS now supports copying option groups during cross-Region snapshot copy requests using the console, API, or CLI. Amazon RDS uses option groups to enable and configure features that make it simple to manage your databases. Copying the option groups with the snapshot on cross Region copy allows you to restore that snapshot in the target Region with the same options as the source snapshot without needing to reconfigure the option groups.
The existing Boolean parameter CopyOptionGroup in the CopyDBSnapshot API and CLI commands now also supports cross-Region copies. You can now copy options groups that are not present on the destination snapshot from the source snapshot by setting this parameter to true.
Copying option groups during cross-Region copy is available for Amazon RDS for Oracle for cross-Region copies between the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. To learn more, please visit our documentation.
