Amazon Neptune now supports R7g instances in Amazon Web Services China regions

Posted on: Jun 8, 2026

Amazon Neptune Database now supports R7g instances in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.

Graviton3-based R7g are the first Amazon Web Services database instances to feature the latest DDR5 memory, enabling high-speed access to data in memory. R7g database instances offer up to 30Gbps enhanced networking bandwidth and up to 20 Gbps of bandwidth to the Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS).

Upgrading a Neptune cluster to R7g instances requires a simple instance type modification for Neptune engine versions 1.4.5 or higher. For more information and to get started with these new instance types, refer to the Amazon Neptune documentation.
