Amazon EC2 now supports Application Status Checks
Amazon EC2 announces the general availability of Application Status Checks, a new health monitoring capability that helps you detect and respond to application-level impairments on your EC2 instances. You can configure HTTP/S health checks against specific paths and ports to identify issues that instance status checks don’t cover, such as guest OS issues like a Docker daemon that has stopped running or a web server that is no longer accepting connections.
With Application Status Checks, EC2 provisions a managed ENI in your subnet and executes checks on your behalf, publishing results to Amazon CloudWatch. You can use these results to gain visibility into application health across your fleet, trigger Auto Scaling Group replacements, set up CloudWatch alarms, and build automated remediation workflows with Amazon EventBridge rules.
Application Status Checks is available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
