Amazon Aurora for MySQL and PostgreSQL expands supports for the Graviton3-based R7g instance type in Amazon Web Services China Regions. R7g instances are available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. Graviton3 instances provide up to 30% performance improvement over Graviton2 instances for Aurora depending on database engine, version, and workload.

Graviton3 processors offer several improvements over the second-generation Graviton processors. Graviton3-based R7g feature DDR5 memory, which provides 50% more memory bandwidth compared to DDR4, enabling high-speed access to data in memory. R7g database instances also offer up to 30Gbps enhanced networking bandwidth and up to 20 Gbps of bandwidth to the Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS).

You can spin up Graviton3-based R7g database instances in the Amazon Aurora Management Console or using the Amazon CLI. For more details, refer to the Aurora documentation.
