Customers in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD, can now hibernate their Amazon EC2 Spot instances on 20 additional instance families. With this expanded coverage, customers can now enjoy the benefits of hibernate on the supported instance families, regardless of whether their purchase option is On Demand, Spot, or Savings Plan.
Hibernation is an Amazon EC2 feature that helps customers lower costs and achieve faster startup times by allowing their running instances to pause and resume at scale. Customers are not billed for the compute time while instances are suspended, and their applications will continue from right where they left off on resume.
Hibernate is available through Amazon CloudFormation, Amazon Web Services Management Console, or through the Amazon SDKs, Amazon Tools for Powershell, or the Amazon Command Line Interface.
