Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports TempDB configuration replication for Multi-AZ database instances in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. With this new feature enabled, we will synchronize TempDB file configurations on the primary host, such as type, name, physical_name, size, max_size, growth, and is_percent_growth, with the secondary host in a Multi-AZ configuration.

Customers can enhance their database instance’s performance by adjusting the TempDB configuration. Yet, it’s crucial to apply these configuration changes to both primary and secondary hosts for Multi-AZ instances. Failing to do so might lead to unexpected database performance following a failover. With this feature, customers only need to modify the TempDB configuration on their primary database host to verify the anticipated performance of their Multi-AZ instances after database failover.

Amazon RDS for SQL Server makes it simple to set up, operate, and scale SQL Server deployments in the cloud. See Amazon RDS for SQL Server Pricing for pricing details and regional availability.
