Amazon CloudWatch now supports using Amazon CloudFormation to manage tags when you create, update, or delete alarms.
Customers tag their CloudWatch alarms to categorize their resources and convey additional contextual information, such as purpose, priority, or contact team. CloudWatch alarm tags can be viewed on the alarm details page or retrieved programmatically for use in automated remediation processes and ticketing systems. Customers can already tag their alarms using the API and command line interface, and with this new feature, they can now leverage CloudFormation as well for that purpose.
Amazon CloudWatch support for tagging alarms with CloudFormation is now available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
