Amazon Transfer Family now supports the option to include username and password credentials, termed as Basic authentication, when sending Applicability Statement 2 (AS2) messages over HTTPS. This enables you to be compatible with your trading partner’s AS2 implementations and comply with their security requirements.

AS2 is a business-to-business (B2B) messaging protocol used to exchange Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents across industries such automotive, industrial machinery, pharma, and logistics. With Amazon Transfer Family’s Drummond-certified AS2 capabilities, you can securely exchange AS2 messages bidirectionally at scale while maintaining compliance and interoperability with your trading partners.

Basic authentication support for outbound AS2 messages is available in all regions where the Amazon Transfer Family service is available, including the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. To learn more about how to configure Basic authentication on your AS2 connectors, visit our documentation.
