Amazon Lake Formation is a service that makes it simple to set up a secure data lake in days. A data lake is a centralized, curated, and secure repository that stores your data, both in its original form and prepared for analysis. A data lake enables you to break down data silos and combine different types of analytics to gain insights and guide better decisions.
Amazon Lake Formation already supports table, column, row, and cell-level permissions in certain regions, making it straightforward to restrict access to sensitive information by granting users access to only the portions of the data they are allowed to see. With today’s launch, you can use the Data Filter functionality in all regions where Amazon Lake Formation is supported when using Amazon Web Services Analytics services that support row-level security like Amazon Athena (V3) and Amazon Redshift Spectrum.
Amazon Lake Formation is available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
