Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP now enables you to create Multi-AZ file systems in Shared VPCs from participant accounts, making it even easier for your organization to decentralize how you administer network and storage resources.

VPC Sharing is a feature that allows resource owners (“owner accounts”) to share one or more VPC subnets with other accounts (“participant accounts”) in their Amazon Organization, allowing participants to manage their own application resources in the subnets shared with them. Before today, customers could create Single-AZ file systems in VPCs shared with them, but customers could only create Multi-AZ file systems in VPCs they owned. Starting today, customers can now create any FSx for ONTAP file system in a Shared VPC. Today’s launch enables customers to run an even broader spectrum of business-critical production workloads in VPCs that have been shared with them.

You can now create Multi-AZ FSx ONTAP file systems from shared VPC participant accounts in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
