Amazon Cognito now offers a new console experience that makes it even easier for customers to manage Amazon Cognito identity pools and add federated sign in for customers’ applications to get access to Amazon Web Services resources. Customers that wish to opt in to the new and streamlined experience can do so by navigating to the Amazon Cognito console

Amazon Cognito identity pools (federated identities) enable you to create unique identities allowing your users to federate with identity providers. Customers leverage Amazon Cognito identity pools to obtain temporary, limited-privilege Amazon Web Services credentials to access Amazon Web Services resources. Cognito identity pools supports federation with Apple, Google, Meta and Cognito user pools in addition to SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) providers.

The new Cognito identity pools console experience is consistent with other Amazon Web Services console experiences. It provides a streamlined experience based on customer feedback and intuitively follows the steps that developers take when enabling authenticated or guest user access. Customers can now more effectively create and manage identity pools. When creating new identity pools, customers can complete complementary tasks that are now grouped together and are easy to discover. Customers now have improved ability to manage existing identity pools as well as individual identities. The console also improves visualizing user statistics and provides enhanced filtering capabilities. Direct access to contextual help and documentation is now consistently and readily available.

The new console experience is available in all Amazon Web Services Regions where Cognito identity pools are available. To get started, visit the Amazon Cognito console. Tell us about your experience by clicking Feedback in the bottom-left corner of the console.
