Amazon Backup announces support for Amazon Redshift, making it easier for you to centrally manage data protection of your Amazon Redshift data warehouse. You can now use Amazon Backup to schedule and restore Redshift manual snapshots. Further, your backups can provide enhanced data protection with immutability, improved security with separate backup access policies, and better governance by centralizing backup and recovery.

To get started with Amazon Backup for Amazon Redshift, you can use the Amazon Web Services Management console, API, or CLI by creating backup policies. You assign Amazon Redshift resources to the policies, and Amazon Backup automates the creation of backups of Amazon Redshift, storing the backups in an encrypted backup vault. Using Amazon Backup for Amazon Redshift gives you the option to schedule cluster level manual snapshots, which are full backups, and restore a table to the existing cluster or a cluster to a new cluster with a few clicks, simplifying data recovery.

Amazon Backup support for Amazon Redshift will now be available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
