Today, we announce an additional capability of Amazon Systems Manager Explorer. The new cross-account / cross-region feature provides IT and DevOps managers a consolidated dashboard view of operational events and conditions across their Amazon Web Services accounts and China regions where action may be required.
This new feature simplifies DevOps management by aggregating operational events (OpsItems) which require action from across Amazon Web Services services into a single operational view to enable customers to centrally manage and efficiently respond to events. With Explorer users can now gain insight into how OpsItems are distributed at a macro level across accounts, regions, applications (Resource Groups), and business units or cost centers (Tags). Customers can then group and filter data to tailor it to their specific needs. For example, a line-level manager can filter down to the specific account or set of accounts they are responsible for, while a mid-level manager can view the operational metrics at an organization level, grouping the data by business unit or cost center using tags. Explorer reports and metrics can also be exported to CSV from the console or queried directly using public APIs.
