Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) today increased the default service quota for container instances per cluster. You can now launch up to 5,000 instances per cluster, an increase from 2,000. The limit increase enables customers to scale further and improve manageability of their clusters.
The new limit applies in all public Amazon Web Services Regions, including Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. The higher limit is reflected in your account automatically and you do not have to take any action. If your account has an approved limit that is higher than the new limit, you will continue to have the higher limit. For more information, please see the ECS service quota documentation.
