Today, Amazon Elastic Container Services (Amazon ECS) has announced the availability of additional metadata attributes for tasks running on Amazon EC2 capacity. You can now use the Amazon ECS task metadata endpoint to retrieve the service name of a task as well as the Amazon VPC ID of Amazon EC2 instance that the task is running on. These additional task metadata attributes provide you increased visibility over your ECS container workloads running on Amazon EC2.
The additional task metadata attributes are available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. To learn more, refer to Amazon ECS task metadata endpoint documentation.
