Today, Amazon EC2 launched 3-Year Standard Reserved Instances (RIs) and 1-Year Convertible RIs in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet.
Amazon EC2 RIs provide a discounted hourly rate and an optional capacity reservation for Amazon EC2 instances. Standard RIs provide the largest discount for a specific instance type over a long-term contract. Convertible RIs provide a smaller discount, but let you change to certain other instance types during the contract. In addition to the existing purchase options in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet – 1-Year Standard RIs and 3-Year Convertible RIs – customers may now purchase 3-Year Standard RIs and 1-Year Convertible RIs as well. 3-Year Standard RIs and 1-Year Convertible RIs provide discounts up to 79% and 69% off On-Demand prices, respectively. These RI options provide customers with more flexibility and also allow customers reduce their Amazon EC2 bill even further.
