Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports parameter changes for full-text search. Full-text search in SQL Server lets users and applications run full-text queries against character-based data in SQL Server tables. Customers now can customize the values of two parameters for full-text search in Amazon RDS:

  • ‘max full-text crawl range’: Improves full-text crawl performance, and the default value is 4. If instance has a lot of CPUs, customers can increase the value to get better performance.
  • ‘transform noise words’: Suppresses the error message in a query that contains noise words and removes the noise words from the query.

Amazon RDS for SQL Server makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale SQL Server deployments in the cloud. See Amazon RDS for SQL Server Pricing for pricing details and regional availability.
