Today, we are announcing Amazon Direct Connect support for Amazon Transit Gateway. With this feature, customers can connect thousands of Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (Amazon VPCs) China to their on-premises networks using 1/2/5/10/100 Gbps Amazon Direct Connect connections. You can now use Direct Connect gateway as an attachment with your Transit Gateways.
Amazon Direct Connect gateway allows you to access any Amazon Web Services Region within China using your Amazon Direct Connect connections. You can associate up to three Transit Gateways from any Amazon Web Services Region within China with each Direct Connect gateway. Amazon Direct Connect is introducing a new type of virtual interface in our China regions called the transit virtual interface to support connectivity to Amazon Transit Gateway. You can create a transit virtual interface using your 1/2/5/10/100 Gbps Amazon Direct Connect connections at any Amazon Direct Connect locations within China. To increase the resiliency of your connectivity, we recommend that you attach at least two transit virtual interfaces from different Amazon Direct Connect locations within China, to the Direct Connect gateway.
Amazon Direct Connect support for Amazon Transit Gateway is now available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
