Starting today, Amazon WAF is available in two new regions: Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) region, operated by NWCD.
Amazon WAF is a web application firewall that helps protect your web applications from common web exploits and bots that could affect application availability, compromise security, or consume excessive resources. Amazon WAF gives you control over which traffic to allow or block to your web applications by defining customizable web security rules. Amazon WAF can be deployed on services such as Application Load Balancer, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon AppSync.
In addition, Amazon WAF Bot Control gives you visibility and control over common and pervasive bots that consume excess resources, skew metrics, cause downtime, or perform other undesired activities. With Bot Control, you can easily monitor, block, or rate-limit pervasive bots, such as scrapers, scanners, and crawlers, or you can allow common bots, such as status monitors and search engines.
