AWS Elemental MediaConvert now offers support for InSync FrameFormer frame rate conversion. With this feature, you can use InSync FrameFormer technology to perform broadcast-quality, motion-compensated frame rate conversions between international broadcast frame rates or between broadcast and film frame rates. This allows you to create high-quality video output files even when complex frame rate conversions are required.

Video frame rate conversion presents many challenges. Motion within the video may appear to stutter as frames are duplicated or dropped, and frames can have degraded video quality when two frames are combined to create a new one. Content may also have been edited together after a telecine or inverse telecine operation, resulting in inconsistent cadences. InSync FrameFormer helps solve these problems by analyzing adjacent frames, detecting motion within the video, and taking into consideration the display timing of new frames to blend images and maintain image quality. Motion remains smooth and consistent and scene boundaries retain clear separation.

InSync FrameFormer works with all content and formats supported by AWS Elemental MediaConvert today and supports SD, HD, and 4K resolutions. InSync FrameFormer is priced as an add-on; for more information, please visit our pricing page.

With MediaConvert, audio and video providers can easily and reliably transcode on-demand content for broadcast and multiscreen delivery. You can build workflows to generate high-quality video outputs in minutes instead of weeks or months. MediaConvert is easy to use with a pay-as-you-go pricing model, offering a high degree of availability, reliability, and scalability.
