Patch Manager, a capability of Amazon Systems Manager, now allows you to deploy patches automatically to instances running any current versions of Ubuntu. Until now, Patch Manager supported current versions of Ubuntu up to 18.04. With this release, Patch Manager now supports Ubuntu’s latest version - Ubuntu 20.04. This support provides more patching options for your Linux environments.

Patch Manager can automatically patch Linux instances running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu Server, Amazon Linux, Amazon Linux 2, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Debian, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).

This feature is available in all Amazon Web Services Regions where Amazon Systems Manager Patch Manager is supported, including in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. For more information, visit the Systems Manager product page and Systems Manager Patch Manager documentation.
