Starting today, Amazon Systems Manager Inventory enables you to send file data from Amazon EC2 instances and on-premises servers to Amazon Config. Amazon Config will discover, record and capture any configuration changes to these files and simplify compliance auditing and security analysis of your computing environments.

Amazon Systems Manager Inventory provides visibility into your Amazon EC2 and on-premises computing environments. Amazon Config enables you to assess, audit, and evaluate the configurations of your Amazon Web Services resources.
