Starting today, AWS Systems Manager Inventory enables you to send file data from Amazon EC2 instances and on-premises servers to AWS Config. AWS Config will discover, record and capture any configuration changes to these files and simplify compliance auditing and security analysis of your computing environments.

AWS Systems Manager Inventory provides visibility into your Amazon EC2 and on-premises computing environments. AWS Config enables you to assess, audit, and evaluate the configurations of your AWS resources.
