Amazon Backup now provides customers a more seamless way to manage their backups, by automatically copying tags from their nested EBS volumes to their EC2 backups. For customers using tags to manage their Amazon Web Services resources, Amazon Backup will enable them to more effectively search for source resources or conduct billing for their backups. Amazon Backup offers a centralized, managed service to back up data across Amazon Web Services services in the cloud as well as on premises using Storage Gateway. Amazon Backup serves as a single dashboard for backup, restore, and policy-based retention of different Amazon Web Services resources, including Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon RDS databases, Amazon DynamoDB tables, Amazon EFS file systems, and Amazon Storage Gateway volumes.
