Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) now supports Amazon Systems Manager to simplify management of Amazon EFS clients. You can now use Amazon Systems Manager to automate the tasks required to install the latest version of the Amazon EFS client (amazon-efs-utils) package on your Amazon EC2 instances maintaining compliance and security by ensuring that the Amazon EFS client is kept up to date. Additionally, you can orchestrate file system mounts to multiple instances using a single command and improve visibility by monitoring the file system mount status using the CloudWatch Logs dashboard. You do not need to login to your Amazon EC2 instances to manage your Amazon EFS clients and there is no additional charge for using these features.

Amazon EFS provides a simple, scalable, cloud native, fully managed elastic NFS file system for use with Amazon Web Services Cloud services and on-premises resources. Amazon EFS clients use the amazon-efs-utils package, an open source collection of tools, to connect securely to Amazon EFS file systems. Amazon Systems Manager gives you visibility and control of your infrastructure on Amazon Web Services Cloud.
