Amazon Storage Gateway now supports adding tags at resource creation time, and tag-based access control. You can assign tags to all Storage Gateway resources including gateways, file shares, volumes, volume snapshots, and tapes when creating them. You can also define fine-grained access controls using tags and Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to control access to resources and actions. Tags are simple key-value pairs that you can assign to resources to easily organize, search, and identify resources, create cost allocation reports, and control access to resources.

Storage Gateway is a hybrid cloud storage service that provides you on-premises access to virtually unlimited cloud storage using NFS, SMB, iSCSI, and iSCSI-VTL interfaces. You can use the service for backing up and archiving data to cloud, shifting on-premises storage to cloud-backed file shares, and providing low-latency access to in cloud for on-premises applications.

Storage Gateway is available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet. Visit to learn more on how to tag Storage Gateway resources and set tag-based access control policies using Amazon Web Services Management Console, CLI, or SDK.
