Amazon EC2’s next generation general purpose M5d and burstable general purpose T3a instances are now available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) region, operated by NWCD.

M5d instances provide a balance of compute, memory, storage, and network resources, and also have local instance storage. M5d instances are ideal for workloads such as web and application servers, backend servers for enterprise applications (e.g. Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, SAP Business Suite, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL databases), gaming servers, caching fleets, as well as for application development environments.

T3a instances offer customers the choice to run on AMD EPYC processors at a 10% lower price compared to T3. These general purpose burstable instances are suitable for a broad spectrum of workloads such as micro-services, low-latency interactive applications, small and medium databases, virtual desktops, development, build and stage environments, code repositories, and business-critical applications.

M5d and T3a instances are supported across all EC2 pricing options including On-Demand, Reserved and Spot Instances, with up to a 90% discount from On-Demand prices.
