Amazon RDS for MySQL now supports MySQL Community Edition minor versions 5.6.40 and 5.7.22 in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. These new versions include a number of fixes and functionality improvements for the MySQL database engine.
We encourage you to consider upgrading your RDS for MySQL database instances at your convenience. You can upgrade your Amazon RDS for MySQL database instance with just a few clicks in the Amazon Management Console. Learn more about upgrading your database instances from the Amazon RDS User Guide.
