Starting today, you can create Amazon RDS for MariaDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL database instances with up to 32 TiB of storage in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.

Existing database instances using SSD-backed storage can also be scaled up to 32 TiB storage without any downtime. The new storage limit is an increase from 16 TiB and is supported for Provisioned IOPS and General Purpose SSD storage types.

The 32 TiB storage size supports larger databases and it also allows you to consolidate database shards into a single database instance, which will simplify your application code and reduce database administration work.
