In 2016, we introduced Convertible RIs which provide customers with the flexibility to change a RI’s instance type, OS, tenancy or payment option during its term. Today, we are announcing a support for splits & mergers to Convertible RIs.
We have improved the Convertible RI exchange process, by adding the ability for you to exchange a portion of an RI, as well as merge the value from multiple RIs for use in a single exchange. This enhancement provides more flexibility when exchanging your Convertible RIs.
