Fulfillment options

Amazon Marketplace allows you to choose from two fulfillment options when listing a SaaS product. The fulfillment option determines which experience your customers goes through after subscribing to your product in Amazon Marketplace.

  1. Default fulfillment URL: This option lets you design and manage the complete onboarding experience. It works well for SaaS products that don’t require additional resources in the customer’s Amazon Web Services account. The key details are:
    • Customers are directed to your product registration page website after subscribing.
    • You, as a seller, control the whole registration experience and provide the customer with steps for accessing the product.
  2. SaaS Quick Launch: This option works well if your SaaS product requires Amazon Web Services resources to be deployed in the customer’s account. For example, sellers who deploy Amazon Identity and Access Management roles, databases, or agents in the customer’s Amazon Web Services account can simplify the onboarding experience for their customers. The key details are:
    • SaaS Quick Launch uses an integrated Amazon CloudFormation stack creation to deploy resources with less context switching for customers.
    • Deployment secrets can be stored in the customer’s Amazon Secrets Manager and used by Amazon CloudFormation during deployment. This avoids customers having to copy and paste deployment parameters.
    • It offers guided, step-by-step instructions that include built-in permission verification mechanisms to ensure customers possess the necessary Amazon Web Services access credentials.
    • Products with SaaS Quick Launch display a Quick Launch tag in their description.
