Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports October 2025 Release Update (RU) and Spatial Patch Bundle (SPB) in China Regions
Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for Oracle now supports the October 2025 Release Update (RU) for Oracle Database versions 19c, 21c and the Spatial Patch Bundle (SPB) for Oracle Database version 19c in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. The updates are available for RDS Oracle Standard Edition 2 and Enterprise Edition. Review the Oracle release notes for October RU for details. The SPB update delivers important fixes for Oracle Spatial and Graph functionality, helping ensure reliable and optimal performance for your spatial operations.
We recommend upgrading to this RU as it includes security fixes. You can upgrade with just a few clicks in the Amazon RDS Management Console or by using the Amazon SDK or CLI. To implement the latest Spatial and Graph patches, you can create new DB instances or upgrade existing ones to engine version '19.0.0.0.ru-2025-10.spb-1.r1', which you can select in the Amazon Web Services Console by using the "Spatial Patch Bundle Engine Versions" checkbox in the engine version selector. You can also enable auto minor version upgrade (AmVU) to automatically upgrade your database instances.
