Amazon DynamoDB now enables CloudWatch Contributor Insight events for throttled keys only
Amazon DynamoDB now supports the ability to only emit events for throttled keys to CloudWatch Contributor Insights (CCI), enabling you to monitor throttled keys without collecting data for all accessed keys. By only emitting events for throttled keys you no longer need to pay for all of your successful requests. This helps you reduce the cost incurred while identifying the most throttled keys.
CloudWatch Contributor Insights helps you analyze your most accessed and throttled keys in DynamoDB and determine how well your data model works. The new ability enhances this capability by focusing specifically on problematic keys during throttling events, helping you investigate and identify issues faster. The cost-effective nature of this mode allows you to enable it across all of your critical tables.
Throttle-only mode for CloudWatch Contributor Insights is available in all the Amazon Web Services regions, including the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
You can enable this feature through the Amazon Web Services Management Console, Amazon Command Line Interface (CLI), or Amazon SDKs.
