Are you interested in migrating existing applications securely to the cloud without the added cost and time of re-engineering the apps? By following the Implementation Guide, you will learn how to deploy and configure SoftNAS Cloud, a software-defined Network Attached Storage (NAS) filer delivered as a virtual appliance available from Amazon Web Services Marketplace. SoftNAS Cloud provides NAS capabilities suitable for the enterprise with high availability and automatic failover within Amazon Web Services. SoftNAS Cloud provides the ability to aggregate EBS and/or Amazon S3 targets, create access to these backend targets using CIFS, NFS, AFP or ISCSI and allows the flexibility to scale up to PBs of storage with data security features.

What you'll accomplish:

You will deploy SoftNAS Cloud Express from Amazon Web Services marketplace.

You will be assigning VPC and the security group for your launched server, inside your Amazon EC2 instance.

You will also access SoftNAS Storage Center using your browser to add or manage devices like Amazon S3.

What you'll need before starting:

An Amazon Web Services Account: You will need an Amazon Web Services account to begin provisioning resources to host your website. Sign up for Amazon Web Services.

IT Skill level: Familiarity with NAS systems is recommended, but not required, to complete this project.

Amazon Web Services Experience: Familiarity with Amazon S3 is recommended, but not required, to complete this project.
