Get inspired by public sector leaders

Join us for the keynote on Wednesday, June 7 starting at 11:00 AM in Ballroom ABC on Level 3 of the South Building. Max Peterson, vice president of worldwide public sector at Amazon Web Services, will share the latest Amazon Web Services announcements for public sector customers, as well as powerful success stories of organizations using the cloud to deliver mission-critical outcomes.

The keynote will also feature two special guests who will share how their organizations use Amazon Web Services to build a better world. Nand Mulchandani, chief technology officer (CTO) of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), serves as the CIA’s senior advisor on technology issues and plays a strategic role in whole-of-agency approach to review and advise on emerging technology trends. Ed Lein, Ph.D, is a senior investigator for the Allen Institute for Brain Science. He leads the Human Cell Types Department, which aims to create comprehensive cell atlases of the human and non-human primate brain, understand what is disrupted in Alzheimer’s disease, and create tools for precision genetic targeting of brain cell types as transformative tools for basic neuroscience and gene therapy.

On Thursday, June 8, starting at 10:00 AM, Jeff Kratz, vice president of Amazon Web Services worldwide public sector channels and alliances, will host the Amazon Web Services Partner Forum in Salon C. Attendees can discover how Amazon Web Services Partners are delivering the Power of Precision with the latest Amazon Web Services innovations. Hear inspiring stories from partner and customer speakers, as well as Amazon Web Services sales leaders, on the real-world impact they are driving for public sector customers. Dive into interactive experiences

In addition to the hundreds of lecture-style breakout sessions and hands-on chalk talks, attendees can participate in other interactive experiences throughout the event.

Attendees can compete in the Amazon Web Services DeepRacer League , the fastest way to get rolling with ML. Developers of all skill levels can get hands-on with ML through a cloud-based three-dimensional (3D) racing simulator, and then race for prizes, glory, and a chance to advance to the Amazon Web Services DeepRacer Grand Finale to compete for the coveted Amazon Web Services DeepRacer Championship Cup.

Amazon Web Services customized this vehicle to integrate Amazon Web Services Snow Family devices, networking, communications, and internet of things (IoT) gear into a rolling collaboration lab that supports humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) use cases.
