Do I need to be an Amazon Web Services customer to join Amazon Web Services Activate China?
Yes. You need to have either an Amazon Web Services China account or a global Amazon Web Services account. You can learn more about Amazon Web Services China accounts here, and global Amazon Web Services Accounts here.
Should I apply to Amazon Web Services Activate China with an Amazon Web Services China Region Account or a global Amazon Web Services Account?
If you plan to use your Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit towards services in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region or Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, apply with an Amazon Web Services China account, or if you plan to use your Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit towards services outside of the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region or Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, apply with a Amazon Web Services global account. Who can apply for a Portfolio or Portfolio Plus package? How do I sign up?
Any startup that works with select accelerators, incubators, Seed/VC Funds, or other startup-enabling organizations, may apply for the Portfolio or Portfolio Plus packages. Please contact your program director for more information on how to apply. If you are a member of a startup-enabling organization that is not currently working with Amazon Web Services Activate China, you can encourage your organization to become a part of Amazon Web Services Activate China by contacting us.
Once accepted into Amazon Web Services Activate, where can I find my credit?
After being approved for any of the Amazon Web Services Activate packages, you can find the exact amount, expiration date, remaining balance, and applicable products your credit can be redeemed for, under the "Credits" tab in your Amazon Web Services Account.
Portfolio or Portfolio Plus Package: If you have been approved for a Portfolio or Portfolio Plus package (your startup is associated with an accelerator, incubator, Seed/VC Fund, or other startup-enabling organization), Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit has been applied to your account. You can find the amount, expiration date, remaining balance, and applicable Amazon Web Services services your credit can be redeemed for, under the "Credits" tab in your Amazon Web Services (China) Account or Amazon Web Services global Account.

Are there specific tiers within the Portfolio or Portfolio Plus package? What do they get?
There are no set tiers within the Portfolio or Portfolio Plus package. Specific benefits under a Portfolio or Portfolio Plus package will vary by region and based on other factors. Please check with the program director of your accelerator, incubator, Seed/VC Fund, or other startup-enabling organization for more details.
What do I get with Amazon Web Services Support that is part of my package?
You will receive a trial of the Business Support Plan.
How do I redeem the training courses that are provided in my package?
After being accepted into the Amazon Web Services Activate China program, you will receive instructions in a confirmation email about how to access trainings offered as part of the program. If you did not receive an email, please visit http://www.amazonaws.cn/activate/members/.
What if I’ve already received Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit or other benefits of Amazon Web Services Activate China?
If you previously received Amazon Web Services Activate China benefits based on your association with an accelerator, incubator, Seed/VC Fund, or startup-enabling organization and you are now associated with a different organization, you may be able to apply for additional benefits. Please contact your program director at your current organization for more information or contact us.
As an accelerator, incubator, Seed/VC Fund, or startup-enabling organization associated with Amazon Web Services Activate China, can I use the Amazon Web Services logo on my website? Can I mention Amazon Web Services as the technology sponsor for my organization?
No. We are not sponsoring any accelerator, incubator, Seed/VC Fund, or other startup-enabling organization. Rather, we may make available Amazon Web Services Activate China Portfolio or Portfolio Plus packages to members of select organizations. Any use of Amazon Web Services logos or marks must be approved in advance in writing. Please contact your Amazon Web Services representative for more information.
