The Innovators Tier is designed to support the earliest stage EdTech startups as they create formations of business and technology foundations. The Amazon Web Services EdStart Innovators Tier provides startups with resources and exposure to a large community of EdTech builders, leaders, and fellow entrepreneurs. EdTech startups who participate in the program will be granted Amazon Web Services Promotional Credits that allow them to explore Amazon Web Services technology and build the foundation of their solution.

$500 in Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit
Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit are designed to help cover costs associated with eligible services, so that customers can get going and start to scale. For more information about eligible services, visit Redeem Your Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit. Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit are applied to customers’ bills until they are exhausted or expire.
Access to live or virtual training
As an Amazon Web Services EdStart Innovator, you will have access to select technical training opportunities to support you in launching your Amazon Web Services-based business. Resources include webinars, technical training sessions, and partner-led presentations.
Live or virtual events
As an Amazon Web Services EdStart Innovator, you will have access to attend select Amazon Web Services EdStart live or virtual events. All Amazon Web Services EdStart events are designed to bring members of the community together to foster networking and collaboration. The team hosts meetups, Pitch Days, and receptions for community members around the world.
Amazon Web Services EdStart Innovators Tier application criteria
- Applicant organization must have been founded within the past two years
- Applicant organization’s annual revenues not to exceed $1M USD
- Applicant organization must have less than $500 lifetime charges for using Amazon Web Services Services in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) region respectively.
- Applicant organization must have not received more than $500 in promotional credit that jointly provided by Beijing Sinnet Technology Co., Ltd. and Ningxia Western Cloud Data Technology Co., Ltd.
- Application must demonstrate an innovative solution for students, teachers, or administrators that addresses a current or future challenge
- Applicant organization must have a mission to solve problems within the field of education
- Applicant organization must be located in an approved region
- Applicant organization must have a descriptive website with a matching domain email address
Amazon Web Services EdStart Innovators Tier application process
Please complete the Amazon Web Services EdStart Innovators Tier interest form and submit your application to be considered for participation in the Amazon Web Services EdStart program. Award criteria includes but is not limited to: the impact of the project, use of Amazon Web Services services, and the ability to reference the work publicly via papers, events, or public relations activities. Approved applicants will be notified by email, usually within five business days. The information you provide in this application is subject to the Privacy Policy for Amazon Web Services (Beijing Region) and Privacy Policy for Amazon Web Services (Ningxia Region). Your use of Amazon Web Services services in connection with your participation in the Amazon Web Services EdStart program is subject to the Sinnet Customer Agreement for Amazon Web Services (Beijing Region) and NWCD Customer Agreement for Amazon Web Services (Ningxia Region) (or other agreements governing your use of Amazon Web Services services).
Any use of Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit in connection with your participation in the Amazon Web Services EdStart program is subject to the Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit Terms and Conditions. If your application is approved, the issued Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit will be valid for up to one year or until the Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit have been fully utilized. Organizations that receive Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit through Amazon Web Services EdStart may apply for future Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit. Recipients are eligible for a maximum of two awards in one calendar year (up to the Amazon Web Services Promotional Credit maximum threshold).
* Startups previously issued more than $500 in Promotional Credit that jointly provided by Beijing Sinnet Technology Co., Ltd. and Ningxia Western Cloud Data Technology Co., Ltd. are not eligible to receive additional credits.
